Paula Ryan launched her label in 1998 with a clear conviction: that women deserved clothes built to last. As a former Fashion Quarterly editor, she had seen the industry's compromises up close — fabrics chosen for cost, silhouettes engineered for seasons, not lifetimes. Her Canterbury farming roots gave her a different standard. She applied the same logic to clothing that farmers apply to everything: choose for performance over time, not appearance at point of sale. That founding principle remains at the heart of the brand today, carried forward by her daughter Bridget.
